Cancellation & Refund Policy

RIDESHARE LIMITED · Company No. 07986677 · Last updated July 2026

1. Your card is held, not charged, when you book

1.1 When your booking is confirmed, we authorise your card for the total amount (the Price Contribution plus the Service Fee). This places a temporary hold — no money is taken from your account at this point.

1.2 Your card is only charged (the hold is "captured") after the Trip has taken place.

2. If you cancel (Passenger)

2.1 You may cancel a booking at any time before the Trip takes place.

2.2 When you cancel before the Trip, the hold on your card is released in full. You are not charged, and there is no cancellation fee. Your seat is returned to the Driver.

2.3 Because nothing has been charged before the Trip, there is no Service Fee to refund — the entire authorised amount, including the Service Fee, is released.

3. If the Driver cancels

3.1 If the Driver cancels the Trip, the hold on your card is released in full and you are notified. You are not charged.

4. If the Trip does not go ahead

4.1 After the Trip, you and the Driver are asked to confirm whether it went ahead.

4.2 If the Trip did not take place, report this in the app (on the trip in your "My Trips" page) within 24 hours of the scheduled departure. When you report a no-show and the Driver has not confirmed the Trip took place, the hold on your card is released and you are not charged.

4.3 If neither you nor the Driver reports a problem, the Trip is treated as having gone ahead and your card is charged the amount shown at booking. Please report any issue promptly so we can release the hold before it is charged.

4.4 If you and the Driver disagree about whether the Trip took place, contact support and we will review the matter before any charge is finalised or refunded.

5. Bookings made well in advance

5.1 For Trips booked more than seven days ahead, the hold on your card may be released and re-placed periodically (roughly every six days) to keep your seat reserved until the Trip.

5.2 Your bank statement may show the hold appearing and disappearing more than once. This is the same single payment kept active, not multiple charges, and you are only ever charged once — after the Trip.

6. How to cancel or report a problem

6.1 You can cancel a booking, or report a Trip that did not go ahead, from the relevant trip in the app.

6.2 If you need help, contact support at legal@ridesharelimited.com. This Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, the Passenger and Driver Terms & Conditions.
