Cookie Policy

RIDESHARE LIMITED · Company No. 07986677 · Last updated October 2026

1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how RIDESHARE LIMITED ("Rideshare", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, apps and brand platforms, including Football Rideshare, Mountain Rideshare, Surf Rideshare and Festival Rideshare.

This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website or use an app. They allow us to recognise your device, enhance your experience, improve performance and personalise content.

We use both first-party (set by us) and third-party cookies (set by external services).

3. Types of Cookies We Use

3.1 Essential Cookies — required for the Platform to operate. Used for login and authentication, security and fraud prevention, and basic functionality. These cannot be disabled.

3.2 Functional Cookies — remember your login status and preferences (such as language and filters) so the Platform works the way you expect.

3.3 Usage Statistics (app only, only with your consent): if you are signed in and switch on "Share usage data", the app stores a random identifier, your settings for it and any records not yet sent, so it can send usage data, error reports and, on our website, screen recordings to PostHog, our analytics provider (see Section 4.11 of our Privacy Policy). On the web this is kept in your browser's local storage and session storage; on our mobile apps, in the app's own storage. Nothing for it is stored or sent until you switch it on. It is kept until you switch off "Share usage data", sign out or delete the app; after that, only a note that sending is switched off is kept, plus, on the web, a random identifier for the browser tab, which your browser deletes when you close the tab.

3.4 Apart from usage statistics, we use only essential and functional cookies. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not place third-party tracking cookies that follow you across other websites or apps (for example Google Analytics, Meta / Facebook or LinkedIn). Cookies necessary for our payment provider (Stripe) and maps provider (Google Maps) may be set when you use those features.

3.5 If we introduce any other non-essential cookies in future, we will update this Policy and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent before setting them.

4. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies to:

  • Keep you logged in securely
  • Remember your preferences
  • Support core features such as Driver–Passenger matching, payments and maps

5. Cookie Consent

Essential and functional cookies are always active, as the Platform cannot function without them, so we do not display a cookie consent banner for them.

Usage statistics (Section 3.3) are the only storage we use that needs your consent. The app asks you once, after you sign up, with the setting off unless you switch it on. Saying no is as easy as saying yes, and the app works the same either way. You can change your choice at any time in Profile → Settings → "Share usage data".

6. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by third parties whose services we use to operate the Platform, namely our payment processor (Stripe) and our mapping and geolocation provider (Google Maps), when you use those features.

We do not control third-party cookies and recommend reviewing those providers' privacy notices.

7. Managing Cookies in Your Browser

You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings:

  • Chrome: chrome://settings/cookies
  • Firefox: about:preferences#privacy
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy
  • Edge: edge://settings/content/cookies

Blocking essential cookies may limit functionality.

8. Do Not Track Signals

Our Platform does not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals due to lack of industry standards.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect legal or technical changes. New versions will include an updated "Last Updated" date.
